I have found this company called A&S at www.detection.com they have listed the sovereign gt for $599 including free shipping,free headphones and extended warranty. my question is can they sell it for this price while everybody else is selling it for $699.
 
I think the dealer minelab, whites, garrett etc sets the min price at which the units can be sold, but I could be wrong. If its used I they can sell it for whatever but I don't think minelab will provide warranty for the new owner of a used unit.
