sovereign getting a deep 9" dime

For me it is hard to watch videos as my broadband is not real fast so i had to let it load up and replay it again. Not sure what you are saying here, but notice you swing the coil too far and too fast until at the very last when you swing it slower and shorter and get a better signal on the dime which is what we are to do. I find from experience that once you go slower you will hear those tones we want to hear, maybe just a chirp, but a tone we want to hear. Then we will try to hone in on that one little tone and get it repeatable by only going over just the small area where the signal is back and forth a little faster to increase the tones and the tones will climb up and give you a great signal. I wish I could make a video to show you what I am doing to show you how I can make these signals come alive.

I wish you would make a vidio as well , it helps so much , and you were right I had to slow the swing speed down and then it came in just fine you know I cant wait to get out and try all this out

Cool vid, thanks for sharing. Yesterday, (5-20-11) I went to a park that I have been at many times before but this time with my new 5" excelerator coil. Hit up a extreme trashy area. Some of the targets that were confusing with the 10" coil, where clear to me with the 5" "sniper" coil. managed to pull an old button of some sort (undecipherable on front or back) and a 1934 rifle bullet. Plus some old nuts and bolts. The coil cenrtainly helped in clearing up the signals and with slow sweeps (like here in your video at the end) showed that slowing down and listening to the blips then "honing" in on them helps us locate the deeper finds.
Gunnar, what kind of video camera are you using to make the videos? I have one but even short videos (1 - 2 minutes ) are in huge amounts of Megabytes. I need someway to compress the videos then I would be able to post. As it stands, impossible at this point. Again, thanks for sharing the vid.

Its a flip ,and i am really not an expert on it , but try diffrent things it may come up , by the way how deep does that exelerator coil go ?

Im just curious ..am I going to hear all that noise while searching? also I cant seem to pinpoint while looking at this video it seems to make noise on one side then the other side Does not make noise in the middle of the swing.... anybody?

is the noise you're talking about the threshold. some sovereigns have silent search but threshold will help you find the really deep signals.

Gunnar, here is another test for you...Some say you can boost the strength of deep coins on the GT by doing this:

Lower the threshold to the desired level just loud enough to hear. Now flip to silent search and then once again raise the threshold to normal level that you can hear again. Some say this will amplify deep coins but I haven't tested that yet.

hey critt thanks for the tp I will check that out .

Sorry Gunnar,

Just realized you asked me a question at the end. I am not sure how deep the excelerator goes but it sure does help in deciphering signals in trashy areas.
