While wet sand hunting with my GT yesterday, I had a strange thing happen. My setting were, Desc 0, IM on, Notch off, Threshold on, Track , Sen Auto, Batteries full charge.
Hunting away finding many targets when all of a sudden I still had a threshold but wasn't hitting any more targets at all. I took a coin out of my pouch threw it on the ground and couldn't get a sound even if I ran the coil a half inch over the coin, nothing, nada.
I tried different settings and nothing, damn, now what. I was really disappointed figuring I would have to sent it in for repair. It is a brand new machine, only about 3 months sold and I love it for wet/ dry sand hunting.
Anyway, I kept fooling around with it and switched to all metal, pinpoint and was swing away when all of a sudden I started to get hits on targets. I switched back to my ORIGINAL settings and everything was alright and continued that way the rest of the hunt.
Anyone ever have this happen to them and any ideas what may have happened ? I'm concerned I may have a short somewhere but don't want to send it in unless the problem comes back and doesn't go away.
