Sovereign Elite Tones & Meter Readings

Hello All,

Last year I got a used Sov. Elite as my first detector, although, I have just recently started to really play around with it. My question is this, if I have a meter reading that has locked on to a good number, will I have different tones for different metals or will I always have the same tone for the number that it has locked to? I know everyone out there has a wealth of information, so thanks to everyone. One more question,what is tone pot?

I just recently purchased a Elite as well and I'm going through the learning process as well, But to my understanding yes you will have different tones for different objects. What type of meter do you have? The 180 or the 550 one? I did the 180 mod on mine and it works better. Well good luck with your quest.
