I am considering a GT detector for use on the dry and wet beach sand. I was initially looking at the Quattro but read that its a very slow target recovery machine (I'm looking for something to sweep quick and deep). I then was considering the Elite only to recently (!) learn they have been discontinued (unless dealers still have some). So this brings me to the GT. For those of you who have tried both the Elite and GT for hunting jewlry (coins too) on the dry and wet salt beach sand, how do they compare with each other? Pros and cons? Do they both need/prefer to have the meter (how beneficial is it?)? Also, do they have to be swept slowly too, as slow as the Quattro? Thank you for any and all help.
