Sovereign Elite iron targets

Just picked up a Sovereign Elite and thought it would make a good relic machine. I see it nulls out on iron targets and that is bad for relic hunting. I find a fair amount of cannon balls and gun parts that are always rusted. I thought when it nulls U would dig target. Has anyone tried this and does anyone have any tricks to overcome this problem?
I have several machines and found this one to get very good depth.

French Indian & War of 1812 relic hunter

Thanks Jerry

All Sovereign models are actually good for relic hunting in my opinion. If iron targets are what you are looking for I'd recommend hunting in all metal mode, it wont null out iron then you can flip it to disc to check if you want.

Just give me your Elite so it can keep my Musketeer company. You know you really won't like it, anyways.
Just keep your Xterra 70, you'll be happier...LOL

Jerry, thought you were only hot on prospecting lately, didn't realize you actually went back to relic hunting and coinshooting.
There area few spots up here that could still have War of 1812 stuff and you still may want to try for some Civil War stuff at
Ridgeway. I don't recall anyone ever hunting for the stuff.

By the way I'm on this forum site all the time.
You know you need a water machine, there is still a lot of gold to be found on the Island, I haven't been there since the year I moved to Georgia.

By the way, I had an Elite before I got the White's MXT. Couldn't get the hang of Elite. But, while in Georgia bought a Sov XS-2a pro. I really liked it,
but was a bit heavy for my elbow. Should have kept it........So right now, I have a Musketeer XS, Minelab Sterling and Detectorpro Wader.

Check your emails now and then and email me your new phone number.

By the way,
They turned Chippewa into a Golf course and they are still finding stuff where you found the Kings Eigth Reg. Buckle.

Below are some pictures of the Elite I owned after I added a pinpoint button.
