Sovereign Elite and coinsearch 8" coil..will it work?

Hi I have recently got myself a Sovereign Elite and was wondering if any of you know if I can use the 8" white Coinsearch coil with this model of Sovereign.
I have heard somewhere that the coinsearch will work with the XS and the GT, but not the Elite.
Hopefully someone can help me out with some advice.

Thanks, Bob.

Thanks guys, I wasnt sure if it would work and I had a chance of picking one up as I have read some good things about this coil.

cheers, Bob.

I have the 8" and 11" Coinsearch coils. I really like the 8" for hunting in heavy iron areas. The 11" is excellent for beaches.

As per a recommendation on one of the forums here I waxed the big coil so sand won't stick to it. Excellent improvement. I waxed the small coil too and now it doesn't get dirt and mud stuck to it.

Get a coil cover for the 8". Use electrical tape to seal it on. It keeps the coil cover snug and prevents junk from getting in between the coil and cover.

The Coinsearch coils are not water proof (just so you know). They are splash proof (in my experience) so they're fine at the water's edge.

Hi Steve, I did a search for the coil waxing tip, but nothing showed up.
Do you mean using car wax polish on the coil cover?
Cheers, bob.

I used a liquid, caranuba wax that I also use to wax the gelcoat on my father's boat.

It doesn't seem to last as long but it's easy to apply. A solid caranuba wax may be better (more durable).

I'm not sure if car wax is good for the coil but it could be. Anything that says it's safe for plastic should be fine.

Hi Crepits, I think that you are thinking about the SunRay In-Line Probes for the Sovereigns. SunRay has a different model In-Line Probe
for the Sov-Elite, and a different model for the other Sovs'. Hope this helps. HH, Les

Over the years this comes up a few times as some will say that the coinsearch has or don't have a pre amp in the coil itself and it wont work on the newer Sovereigns. The truth is they all have this preamp in the coil or they will not work on any of the Sovereigns. All the coils made for the Sovereigns are interchangeable with any model Sovereigns.
On the Sun Ray probes the Elite and GT uses a different switching box than the older Sovereigns. These switching boxes mount on the top V clip where the meter would sit, then the meter will now sit on top of the switching box. This saves from mounting a V clip under the shaft like the older Sovereigns were.

Back to Black for car bumpers is the best U.K. product but should be sprayed on and polished off without waiting as if its left the silicon becomes sticky and holds sand.
Ideal for P.I.'s as well that can suffer from noise due to waves washing over the coil.
You can get away with a wave sweeping the Coinsearch. Leaks only occur if there's a little pressure or if its a hot day and the coil is plunged under cold water.

Hi Guys, just to let you know that I had a chance to try out the new coil yesterday.
Only had 20 minutes or so on a small playing field near my house.
The coil is well named, it certainly searches out the coins, I managed 3
