Sov GT Shaft Problem

Yeah, I was checking out Pluggers shaft clamp early on .....GREAT IDEA and looks to be very well made .....Lord knows how many folks have loose shafts from all the wear and tear from the sand and salt .... It's good to hear that someone has tried it out and liked it ....THanks for the report ...Jim

One side note, I bought Plugger's rod end clamp. I have converted from the S shaft to a homemade straight shaft. No worries on alignment of the parts now. No holes to line up, this device allows a full range of adjustment and holds fantastic. I like it.

I did the same a few weeks ago. I like the fact that I am able to leave the coil at a slight angle compared to the grip and control box. It really makes my Sovereigns more comfortable to use.

The clamps are pretty beefy, so they should tolerate the extra stress of not having the adjustable pins. That being said, I did drill one hole just slightly above my normal usage point. A failure of the clamp while in the field would make the detector unusable, but the single hole is a reasonable failsafe.

Where can one see a picture of these clamps?

Not the greatest picture, but here's one from my Sovereign. I think Plugger has some more pics in his Ebay listings.
