Sov GT pricing drop

Neil

Well-known member
Kellyco has dropped the price of the Sov GT down to $949 in case anyone is looking for a new one.

I was just looking at some coils for my explorer and sov and ran across this.

Great price for a great detector.

n/t

Not really a bad deal at all save hundred buck,s plus the new 5 year warranty , i just dont like all that extra junk they include it just adds to the shipping cost just send me the detector . Jim

For a very limited time buy option 2 and get a
FULL 5 YEAR WARRANTY
(3 Year Minelab Warranty)
(2 Year Kellyco Warranty)
Kellyco Metal Detectors is now a Minelab Authorized Service Center for North America with Minelab Certified Technicians.

Sounds like they have a glut of GTs sitting in the warehouse. A little birdy told me Minelab has a huge stock of SE Pros sitting around too, if what I heard was true. That's surprised me, as the SE Pro or GT will hold it's own against anything on the market said by some who have used them all, but then I think it goes along with the lines in the other thread about new smart phones. New bells and whistles and the public just rushes for what has more bling on the screen.

For that new lower price that might hurt used saled for a while until the new stock of GTs dries up. After that I expect prices on used ones through the roof, just like it appears Digisearch meters discontinued a year ago are already at a premium price. Probably sitting on a bunch of 8 and 10" Tornados maybe too, so same deal with that once stock dries up, if the Digisearch meter and other prior discontinued legendary detectors is any indication of what happens with the right machines when they are discontinued. Both the SE and GT are right at the top of this list of legends before and after their time IMO.

time will surely tell.

I havent seen any through the roof prices on detectors that have been discontinued, would you care to elaborate? Im taking thru the roof as more than what the detector cost new. The closest legend I can think of in the Sovs era is the CZ and thats still being made and the used ones are relatively cheap as are their coils. Same with Whites machines. Heck Whites still works on alot of their old detectors like Tesoro does, to bad they dont make BBS and FBS machines:sleepy:
Im hoping minelab comes out with something below a grand that is their next legend:sleepy:

Neil,

I am afraid it is going the other way, killing off lines to push the more expensive gear, AKA the CTX-3030. My guess is they will continue to discount the Sovereign to shorten the time in years it takes to get the machine off of their list of warranty liabilities.

It was guess, not a wish. I have an almost new one, still has some warranty, basically looks like a closet find.

I wouldn't hold my breath for that last wish

Looks my guess is coming true. Next stop $795..???

I agree with you partially. I questioned critters comment but he never replied. I do think the Sov is gonna drop in value, new or used, I dont think they are gonna go up like he said.

Also on the major auction sites everyday there is another Sov GT either for sale or bids or make a offer and most are just under 800.00 with extra,s used but in mint shape . ? hhmm , would be nice to have a almost new stand by . Jim
