sov gt no match in va. soil

:surprised: Hi all I've been hunting with sov's forever went down to va last weekend and got my hat handed to me . any thoughts ?????? could not get it to quiet down in all metal terrible depth too (only while I was In va.) up north the machine is leathal what happened????? thanx Bob Clark
 
That soil is very hot. I found that what works best for me is to Set my detector is all metal, disc to 0, sensitivity as high as the detector can go and still be stable, Volume at max.

then when I get a signal I flip to disc to see if it still is picked up. If I don't pick it up I dig. If I get what I figure is almost a rusty nail signal, I dig and most of the time it is a bullet.

I also sweep very slow. This was my 3rd trip and the elite has always been my favorite over my Eagle Spectrum and a Elderado.

This time I tried one of the large butterfly coils and got a 10" deep bull tag, but the coil was very heavy to deal with.
