Sov GT Manual Sensitivity

Hi all

99% of the time I run my SovGT on Auto Sensitivity. Reading the posts here I notice that those who run it on Manual Sensitivity rarely take it past the 12oclock on the dial (usually around 1 - 2 oclock or on the C of noise Cancel. I guess my question is When would you take it past the 12o'clock? Dry sand?

I am rarely game to take it out of Auto Sens in fear of either getting too many false signals or setting it too far to the right of the dial and miss out on some targets.

I'm still learning...

Cheers
Snoopy

To learn the Sovereign is when it is recommended to run auto, but once you do then manual is where you will do the best. On auto it runs very smooth and easier to learn the tones, so the weaker or iffy of a deep target signals you will not hear in most cases. Myself I run my Sovereign in the 10-12 o'clock position almost all the time as from experience you know what to listen for and going slower when it nulls too much. There has been a few cases where I did have to run auto as there was a lot of electrical interference or didn't want to detect deep as everything was shallow.Few cases max sensitivity, but be prepared to go a lot slower and listen close to the signals in with the falsing. Most of the time mine is in the 11 o'clock position and vary my speed depending on the trash and ground conditions and will turn it up a little or down a little.

this isa case were your ground has everything to do with how much sens you can use as for me auto will not pick out a 6" dime in ground , so i use manuel and at 4;oclock i can hit the dime fine but not the 7" so just above 3 ocklockand i get good depth and clean signals I run it a bit higher in all metal about 1 o clock to much snse in all metal will blend out the targets signal

I leave mine at around 1-2 o'clock and still dig targets at 9''+ at my beach

I agree with Rick(ND)
