sov gt digineters which ones are good and do they work well?

I have mixed feelings about mine. It will hold fairly close readings most of the time
but there are times that it will not give the same reading on the same items, coin's
hold the closest time to time and coin to coin but other things will give different
numbers from time to time ( air tests and in the ground ) perhaps due to slightly
different contents in there make up even though they are the same items. Best
not to trust any meter I think, just use it for a guide only. I trust mine on clad coins but
any thing else I dig.

As far as Minelab meters the new one made for the GT that is the 180 meter is the best one Minelab has made and to me work the best. Now Sun Ray used to make a meter for the Sovereign call the DTI 2 and DTI 3 meter that many of us love, but hard to find anymore as they are not being made anymore. There were other meters being made but the Sun Rays and the new 180 meter Minelab makes seem to be the ones that worked out the best. Another meter I forgot about was a meter called a Nighthawk that also seem to be a great meter too. There was a analog meter too being made that was expensive, but didn't work as good for me and many while some loved them. I think you will find the new Minelab 180 meter the best new one you can get, but used the Sun Ray,Minelab 180 or the Nighthawk is your best choice.

Yes they do work and they are a great help. It will help you make sense of the tones the machine is making by assigning a number to your target, which will cut down the learning curve considerably. I've had my GT for one summer now but I didn't get the meter right away and I was getting frustrated. After getting the meter everything made more sense to me.
Good luck Gary
