I think (?) probably most say that each model of the Sovereign that came out maybe got a tad bit deeper. Some say one particular older model was deeper than another particular older model for them. For sure many say the GT is the deepest of them all by a bit, or at least will ID targets easier at depth without as much work. I've also read where some say the GT is a bit more sensitive to tiny stuff than all prior models. But, I have read a few blurbs were some guys swear the Elite is the deepst of all the Sovereigns they've owned. I figure they might have got a particularly "hot" one as that can happen in detectors. But, as said, the GT is said by many to be a bit deeper than all prior models at least by many, if not all.

On the other hand, all of the Sovereign models are still crazy deep and pretty much as deep as it gets in a VLF discriminating detector compared to everything else out there IMHO. Even if it's true that one model Sovereign is a tad deeper than another that could probably be a mute point with a good coil. For instance, I'd strap a Tornado or a 12x10 on older models using the BBS coils which were heavy and many say not as good at performance as the Tornados are. The Elite comes with a 10" Tornado so you should be good on that, but for even a bit more depth look into the 12x10 or perhaps a S-12.
