I can buy me a used meter. But I like to know if this model does fit the new Souvereign GT.

Thanks,

Andre

unless its modded, thats a 550 meter. best to read some on the forum about the difference between that and the 180. One has 180 numbers the other 550.

As Neil said it looks like one of the earlier 550 meters. They are known for being a little less stable than the newer 550 models and the 180 meters, but will work just fine on the GT.

You can buy the kit to covert it from 550 to 180 for about 10 bucks or buy the parts yourself. steve

It does work just fine, just need to modify it the the shaft and adjust the meter to your target-works great for medium depth targets but I still rely on sound for 90% I.D's, the target sound is the greatness of the GT unit. I found the meter helped me greatly to get to know what sounds to listen for.

Also there is a fellow who custom installs meters right inside Sovereign control boxes, in case someone did not know. If you enquire and look hard enough you can find his website if need be.

Anyone have a comparison between the Sovereign add-on Minelab meter vs the custom installed meter.??

That is the same meter that I use. If you have taken one apart ( Please Reply ), On the back where the cable goes to the housing, can you release it from the inside ( It has a plastic square nut, I believe if I twisted it ,it will brake the inside pin's.. I am having to replace the metal 6 prong because of a Broken wire and the soldering iron got to Hot. It would be nice just to buy a pre made cable if available.
