Southern California - Vaquero or Tejon?

Mojave

New member
Hi, I am a 23 year old semi-newbie who is interested in purchasing a Tesoro detector very soon. After much consideration, I have narrowed it down between the Tejon and the Vaquero.

Is Southern California known for high mineralization? I will mostly be coinhunting in local neighborhoods, but I also plan on relic hunting out in the desert. Which will better suit me, the Tejon (which I hear gets a little better depth, but is more "chatty") or the Vaquero (which is supposedly much easier to use and is much smoother)?

If anyone has any advice, I'd love to hear it. Thanks!

I'm with Scully. I have the Tejon and Cibola which are both great machines. For coin and relic, I would give the Tejon an edge for the dual discriminate feature, and manual ground balance. The 575 coil has been a must at times for me in the high trash areas.
