South Texas White Wing Dove................

Kelley (Texas)

New member
I took these South Texas White Wing Dove pictures a few minutes ago using my Canon SX10is point & shoot bridge camera. It is a hot 102 degrees and I had just gone out to give the birds some food and fresh water when on a spur of the moment I decided to take a few pictures. I bought this camera about five years ago to carry in the saddle bags of my bike when I rode the back roads of South Texas taking pictures of old farms, ranches, barns, old towns, and historical sites. I don't use it much anymore, mostly use my Sony A300 DSLR camera now days, but there are lots of great memories associated with this bridge camera, and I doubt if I would ever sell it.

Note: I did very little photo editing to these two pictures, and they are classified as snap shots as I did not follow the rule of thirds in composing the pictures. Kelley (Texas) :)

odd Fred, I just took a rough shot of this bird that was on the sidewalk a minut ago, I will let it rest then see if will fly away...

seems it may have hurt itself, but will keep my fingers crossed, I have it in a shoe box with sugar water, but does not look good

Fred I left it in a quite place with sugar water, but it was dead as a doornail in the morning, at least no cats got at it.
When it comes to saving critters my success rate is pretty low...
