Minnesotan heading to port mansfield texas at the end of the month to help out a friend bringing my brand new exterra70 and wanting to try the beach has anyone hunted south padre with any success and are their any pointers for me also any other areas down there to check out any info would be appreciated thanks Don
 
Contact my lil sis, txkickergirl, on her website www.southtxmetaldetectors.com . She started the site and a club in South Texas. They hunt all over the area and some go into Mexico. You will have to create a login, and wait for her to acknowledge you, which usually only takes a day, and then you can view the site and get with the folks down their.

I'm sure you'll hear this when you speak with txkickergirl but, in case you don't speak with her, be sure to be mindful of where you are. It is forbidden to metal detect in Texas State Parks. There are a few of them down there.

Just so that you know, State Parks in Texas are indicated by Brown Signs with Yellow print. State Parks are seperate from City Parks and recreation areas.

Currently there is a lot of lobbying going on to get the metal detecting ban lifted in certain state parks.
TXKickerGirl will know all about this.
