This is was a GRD hunt. Chuck found the parrot shell and I found the rest. We always split up so I didn't have time to take photos of what he found but when I saw this shell that he was walking back to the car with I had to get a shot. He found the find of the day for sure. I found a broken branch and got a tone on it and thought a target was under the branch but after the target was lost I found the mini ball inbeded in this branch..that was a cool find. One of the flat buttons has a design on it and the lock has some writting on it also. The axe I found crossing some water and it was very deep I thought it was a cannon ball. I had to take my jacket of and sink my arms into the black mud water to pull it out. The rest are all great finds for me being a Calif hunter living in the Gold Country where the gold rush was. Sometimes you would walk for a half hour and not get a hit. But when I got one man alive was I happy to dig, in fact I wanted to dig and dig but targets were hard to find. We had to really start to understand what went on during the civil war and where they may have been fighting and setting up camp. It was very hard but Larry and Vance pointed me in the right direction and invited me to a spot and we stayed there for two days hunting and wish we had one more day because we started to understand how things were back in the day..Boy Larry and Vance walk and hunt fast. Hope to go next year and eveyone I met was a great kind person.
