South Beach experience

Just got back from South Beach Florida. Only got to spend 2 days detecting and it was extremely windy. I worked the wet sand the first day and only found clad coins about $3.00 worth. Hunted in the water the best I could the next day and took a terrific beating. The waves were beating me on the back while the undertow tried to pull me from shore. I used my Excaliber 2 the first day and my DetectorPro HHPI w/ 8" coil the second day. Both detectors worked real well. I did manage to find one gold ring with the PI real deep, but some how lost it,how I don't know how. That was it, nothing on the dry sand but a small junk chain & and a non-gold earring. I only ran into one other hunter who told me that summer was the best time to hunt. While I was hunting in the water a man came up and said he had lost a silver ring a few minutes ago and showed me the approximate location. I got a few signals, but was being blown off the targets. Dug a few targets which turned out to be bottle caps. It was a learning experience and I enjoyed learning my machines. It was my first time out with my Excaliber2 with the new MGM headphones. They worked great. Had to turn down the volume to almost the off position to avoid getting my head blown off. They really amplify the targets. They also filter out almost all of the background noise. I am very happy with them.

oh no!! did you actually recover the gold ring and the lose it out of your pouch?

Im so sorry you lost your ring! It happened to a good friend of mine once. Get a good 2 pocket hunting pouch if you dont have one.Demarco detectors sells a nice one made by one of the forum peeps...Its called the Pro Beach finds pouch. Best thing since sliced wonder bread for hanging onto your finds.

Thanks, Dig
This Pouch takes care of these finds getting lost again..........

Zippers instead on velcro......Sand loves to get in the velcro and will not stay closed.

Flow thru design, Made of Marine Grade products.

Your good finds can go in the front pocket that make those finds not visible to these watching.

When you get back from the beach you can just spray the hose right into the pouch to clean off those finds.

How did you go about installing the MGM's? Did you send in the whole machine and have him do it?
