Just had Keith S put a ground balance knob on my cibola; Her new name is 'Wicked Wanda" Any tips on how to turn her lose, Note Very quick turn around from Keith. jack in Arkansas aka crossotter

I'm guessing you were pretty familiar with your Cibola before the mod. If so, just ground balance her and go!

If you haven't ground balanced before, look up the manual for the Vaquero on the Tesoro web site and follow the instructions for ground balancing.

And to get just a touch more optimization, search in this findmall Tesoro forum on author Monte, the two words "power balance" over the last year and you will turn up some discussion as to why, and tips.
Enjoy!

Power ground balancing is for g/bing a Tesoro without changing the g/b pot out. It is basically setting the internal pot to the most often encountered mineralization and leaving it there. I have done my Silver umax and Compadre this way with good results. Those who do this should be gentle and careful and use the plastic tv tuner screwdrivers if possible.

Can also be used with a detector with front panel control of manual ground balance to optimize response in mineralized ground areas. I use the technique over gravel areas where I get a lot of falsing when adjusted the way the manual says to ground balance. Takes just a little longer to do, and in my opinion, it helps in setting up to work over some of the tougher to hunt conditions.

I give a :clapping: to Monte for sharing the technique.
