Im assuming those sounds are the FACTORY setting..... not adjustments made in the box which can be adjusted to ones hearing?

They sound the same as my Sov, I wasn't aware you could alter the sounds, well I couldn't,wouldn't know where to start.
This was quite common a few years back and it seem like the Dixie mod that is done turns up the tone all the way.
This adjustment is a pot on the circuit board that will change the tone pitch of the Sovereign. This was done for some that had like a low or high pitch hearing problem so the tones could be all turned higher or lower so a person can hear the difference better. I find the factory setting work the best for me and setting the tones higher was hard to tell the difference in the tones and my high pitch hearing is real bad, yet the tones are fine for me.

I agree with Rick the factory set for the tones works best.I played around with the tone adjustment and found setting it too high altered my ability to be effective with the Sovereign.I have received a couple of Sovereign's where someone had adjusted it all the way to the pot stop position,very easy to correct,this was probably the reason the Sovereign was sold.LOL don't fix which isn't broken.HH Ron

I turned mine DOWN for my hearing.... it separated my targets in the nickel range.
