When using the NiMH battery pack, after it's rundown and the indicator message comes on saying the battery is low is when I recharge it, should I wait that long? After the initial "full charge" how long should I recharge? Is it good to keep wearing it down all the way before recharging? Can I use the battery for 5 hours and the charge it to full again or is this bad for the battery?
 
You can recharge any time you want to.

If you are talking about the Low battery message on the meter, ignore it. Usually comes on well after the battery is shot. It will flash at turn on and turn off.......ignore it.

You only need to recharge when the detector quits working.
