Despite my best attempts at not getting personal (you seem to get quite personal with me and somehow convince those that keep locking the thread on your bequest that it's not against the rules of this forum when all I want to do is to get to the truth) I don't buy your attempt at explaining what you posted! You stated one postion about hunting churches to someone (with no questions from me), then when confronted by others on the forum, turned 180 degrees in the opposite direction. Please let me and the others on the forum that value truth and ethics in detecting know how you can justify the absurd statement that all you need to do is to "dress tidy" (sic) to hunt a country church? If you deny that, I will post the links to your diametrically opposing posts as that is simple fact. There is no personal attack here at all, I just want to understand why you posted what you did. If this post is deleted from the forum, then I know something is amiss here! Please elucidate me.

every spot in the U.S. is owned by someone so it must be that you need permission to hunt anything and everything excluding any property owned by the hunter. Here's something to think about. Do you need permission to hunt Fairgrounds? They have a board also that addresses upgrades and repairs and such on the grounds and buildings so does this mean you need permission to hunt these spots also? These are County Owned and if you need permission, how about County Parks? I thought Parks that were not State Parks they were alright to hunt? What about Boulevards? Do you need permission to hunt these as well and if so who gives you the permission? Home Owner or City Board? Now if you need permission to hunt Boulevards, then why are we hunting City Parks since this is City Property just like Boulevards without permission? How about Beaches! Someone owns the land here and pays the taxes and keeps them clean so who do you ask on this? You want to get down right technical on everything, answer these for me. I've looked through a lot of Detecting Books put out by Garrett and Churches are listed for hunting to finds Old Coins. I'm not saying that you do not need permission but why isn't this addressed in these books? Now you can do whatever you want there Maverick. The fact is all you do is cause trouble on my postings because you can't stand a person getting out and making finds like I do each and every weekend. What do you think is going to happen when I hunt 8-10 hours a day? One thing I would like to add, try and average out what my good finds are against my Clad / Junk finds on my next post and maybe this will shed a little more light on the sites I am hunting. If you think about it, I'm not finding a lot of Silver or other good finds in an hours time. Junk will be included in my next post professor.

Some towns/cities have No detecting rules on City parks/fair grounds/city property. Not all town/city rules are the same. Some sites may be historical.I dont think books adress asking permission becuase its common sense to ask permission.I dont go onto people property without permission for anything. My area we are lucky the towns and cities let us detect..SO FAR.As long as no one screws us by making a mess or Going places they shouldnt.I would think that everyone would feel this way.Howd you like it if you owned a piece of property that you couldnt watch all the time..You go there one day and you dont find holes but you can tell someone was detecting there..Would you be happy?? I wouldnt. You try that type of hunting in some towns and you may get arrested. And if I ran into a guy doing that in my area, and he was ruining it for me...Wed have a talk.Im sure you wouldnt go and tresspass without permission. Its screws the hobby for us all.We all need to try and Make the Hobby look Good or we are gonna loose the right to Hunt.Common sense goes a Long way.Good Luck and Happy Hunting to everyone.

And by the way, the second greatest commandment was: Love your neighbor as yourself:cheekkiss: You guys go easy on each other, come on its just a hobby.
