Sony DSC-F707 Cyber-Shot

Rick,
I was talking to the Govner today and I mentioned that I had just bought a Sony DSC-F707 Cyber-Shot to use for my job. He thought that there may have been a better choice for the price. I did do a good deal of homework before making my purchase but, he suggested that I ask your opinion anyway.
I will be using the camera to take pictures of communications tower antennas. I need get clear, high resolution pictures of antenna locations on towers up to 400' tall. Even after zooming in for a shot, I usually crop the area of interest so a high resolution fine grain picture is a must.
.
I bought the camera at a Best Buy for just under $1,000.00 ( Premium price I know! ). Before buying, I read 25+ reviews on all my choices and except for a "white balance" problem on some of the first units, everything I read on the F707 was good. So after checking the serial number against a list of known defective units, I made the purchase.
I also opted for the proprietary 128 MB stick as recommended in the reviews I read.
I would appreciate your opinion of the F707 and any other comparable cameras in this price range. I still have 30 days to change my mind....
Thanks,
Andy

Pardon me for being elusive when it comes to my opinions on cameras. I'd really need to get it in my hands and see some results from it. I have included a link below for you to check out. My only comment is that is has a nice mega-pixel rating. That should do just about anything you want to do.

Digital cameras don't have the extreme telephoto lenses which are available for film cameras.
If you are shooting from the ground and plan to have prints made, I would go with a quality film camera.

"SOME" Consumer grade digital's don't have the extreme telephoto lenses that film camera's have.
