Detected a couple trees out back before cutting them down. Found some hardware in the wood, and marked the spots that were safe to cut.

Did not do so with this tree. Tore up the chainsaw pretty good.

Moral to the story.....

You don't always make money detecting, but you sure can lose some when you don't detect.

WAS a new chain.

I check reclaimed lumber for nails the same way before sawing or planing.

Heard it works for checking your kids for swallowed coins too.
