I went to the river last week or the week before and was wearing my chest waders and couldn't get out too far. Found quite a few 22 bullets, casings, pull tabs and pop tops. What really surprised me was finding this diabetic syringe about 5 feet from where everybody enters and exits the swim park.
Didn't find the needle but was getting a beep on it and it must have come off in my scoop and fell thru. Just a good idea to be careful out there.

In some of the park beaches we find heroin needles. It's so bad at times that they have groups that get together just to pick up needles and syringes. Sad.....

Yep, not too sure if it's a 'diabetic' syringe or not! I occasionally come across needles myself especially in the parks and with the economy in a slump, I'm seeing a heck of a lot more homeless living in the parks and usually, drink and drug taking increases in them. I always wear gloves but unless they are kevlar!! or something similar, there's not much protection!!....we all need to be very careful.

You are on the right targets there Fongu...shell casings and lead....I like this post, a very honest display of the usual targets we encounter...you have had some amazing finds this Summer working that area..

Your results look an awful lot like my Saturday visit to the beach.

Three and a half hours of working the beach and the water before I gave up and went home. I covered a lot of beach but nothing was willing to be rescued.

One toy, three quarters and a junk ring were the highlights of my day. Oh well there is always next time.

Looks a lot better then my hunt today also. Good Job!!

I can't imagine anybody throwing a syringe near where kids and adults swim. My day today started out with Murphy's Law in over drive, but managed one silver coin that I initially thought was a half dime. Turned out to be an unusual American/Phillipine coin from 1945. Looked it up in the red book and it was made in Denver. I never knew they existed and my book only went up to 1935 on the ten centavos coins. I will try and post tomorrow when I have more time. Went to a park today and I'm tired.

I can't deal with drunks. Just getting out and doing some dirt fishing is great, even tho it's rough on the old bones. Finding something real good is just icing on the cake. GL & HH, ironarmknives.
