Sometimes a mystery hole - Compadre 12/27/13

I only had a few minutes with the Compadre today but had the ReplayXD1080 running while I hunted. This little unit continues to impress and is a pleasure to use.

How about that , I just finished posting on your previous video and was pleasantly surprised to see this one . Another winner and a good lesson in patience . That last signal was sounding pretty good . I hope you are able to relocate it again .

It sure looks like you are having a good time. Sometimes when you get a situation like that where there is a lot of trash,, Try turning your disc. knob up until it goes quiet. Than bring it back down till you get a good beep. Get your target and see what it is. Remember where it disced out at. After a while you will be able to know what is in the hole before you dig. If that beep has a good beep one direction and not so good the other. It is most likely junk. Try to play with the sounds. Listen how they are. Good beep in all directions or one good and one not so good. Remember that sound and dig. . It wont take you long to learn that that detector is trying to talk to you. You will learn what it is telling you. You will learn to trust it. It will be your new girl friend. You will love her... KEN

May I suggest you fix up one of these (a magnet stick), you wouldn't believe how much it well help clear bits and pieces of rusty iron out of the way in VERY short order.
I used some 1/2" PVC pipe, one collar, and a cap. (3/4" PVC would work as well)
Two to three rare earth magnets from Fleabay. its easy to make, easy to pack.

Thanks for the video!

Good idea on that magnet stick. I have a bunch of 50lb hold magnets around here from a work project and they would catch a bunch of the junk I'm dealing with.

a trashy spot , but keep at it if you are digging pennys & tabs it has not been searched , a good find can be in their . Its cool watching the compadre in action

Well, that would be plenty of magnet, but one thing to keep in mind is they can get stuck to every piece of metal around your body LoL! I tried several ideas before I landed on the PVC disk magnets. The side wall of the PVC softens the magnetic effect just enough but leaves the end completely open, so it carries pretty well and I've not got my fingers pinched yet, or worse.
Now, you might just come up with something even better arranged than what I did, so whatever you come up with, post us the results. I don't have enough money in it or trouble to not jump ship for a better idea.
