The area people are detecting....!!

Not all detectors work the same every where.. You have to remember that.
Soil plays an important role.

Ground balance does too. Preset GB machines will not function well in all places.. Average at best is all that can be expected.

On the other side. Poor Gb settings can affect depth and operation a great deal too. So if you have GB check it often..

Poor sensitivity settings can produce poor results.. To much sensitivity as well as not enough...

How true!!!!! I would love to see GB numbers when people have them.
It would be a great help to the industry if there was a standardization process to compare GB numbers from the different manufacturers so we could correlate geographic areas.
Cuiousity I guess

so true ,so true Elton... im always looking for that ultimate set up that will give me the best depth and response... some days I find it and some days I don't ... sometimes the magic set up that worked so good one doesn't work so good the next, even at the same site....all part of learning the machine and understanding the limitations of it as it applys to that site that particular day...

Also you have to take into account how good other hunters really are.
I have been warned of a few sites in the past, nothing left here to find, me and my buddies hit this place over and over, blah blah blah.
I always say thanks for the advice and then go out and find several good things that they missed.
