I found this one piece solid brass Barlow style knife several years ago. The blade remnants fell out during the cleaning process, and with no name, marks and unable to identify it I punted. A neighbor hand crafts knives and was willing to give it a shot. After several attempts he finished it and Wow it's stunning with 2 hand made Damascus twist blade complete with a name and date stamped in. I left most of the original patina on the case. You all might be asking why post it here I also found G.S. Eagle coats buttons, one GAR button and .54 cal Minnie ball on this house site so I guess it has the provenance.
