Looks to be an amythyst. Hard to see, but that would be my guess if it's in a gold or silver setting. Gold, silver or junk??

You know somebody spent some time setting the stone with 6 prongs, so somebody didn't want it getting away, but its not marked. My guess the ring is made of that alloy affectionately referred to as Tibetan silver, which looks like silver but actually contains no silver at all. Its not gold although it VDI's in the mid 40's.... might be made out of aluminium foil too!

I tossed in the junk drawer, so its designated as "junk" now.........just a ringie dingie........:rofl:
