Something I've noticed

I'm finding better and more items in the wetsand than when I hunt in the water??? Anybody else think so????

I think that the Mine delivers better goods and volume of goods than the wet sand generally speaking but it depends upon what is happening with the beach you're hunting. I usually hit the Mine first at low tide before the window of opportunity starts to close but I'll fall back to the Lane or the Wet sand if the Mine isn't producing.

It all depends upon where the sand is shifting on that particular day.

Yes, definitely...the wet sand at low tide, between the water and about halfway to the dry sand. But that's for ME, here at our beaches. And perhaps for you. But it depends on the beach, the amount of people that use it, the currents, the surf, the amount of sand that's stacked up (or washed out) and a lot of other factors. Some beaches have very little surf or are sheltered from the bigger surf. In that case, probably more in the water. Some beaches seem to produce a lot more in the dry sand, probably due to the way the beachgoers are using the beach. Not so much swimming, more laying out, whatever.

I have had success both in and out of the water, but for me, it's more int he wet sand than anywhere else. Usually the surf here is too rough to get where I would want to be in the water. And there's no visibility to the bottom, unlike some of the more tropical spots folks get to hunt in.

found a honey hole in the water....it was like a 30'x30' drop off a few feet deeper than the surrounding area and it was thigh deep from the surf.....I found target after target every few feet...but no good gold came out of it...but it was a blast.....the next day it was gone!.....you got to be fast and hit it hard when you find it...but gold will sink fast where it lands so if you hunt beaches in season, it can be any where.....makes sense that in cold water it will fall off fingers in water, but then again, The tide is in and out so depends on where the tide was when lost...I have seen people in water at low tide and at high tide...so gold lands in all areas.......except dry sand and if it don't get touched by water it will stay where it landed....till you detect it.
