Something I've never seen before

Got a chance to do a little hunting this morning and came up with an object I've never seen before.. It looks to be a watch ring (digital) and the markings on it are TIMECO below the display and a crown above it. I don't remember these. when were they popular:confused:
 
i vaguely remember them around the early to mid 80's when alot of the first small hand held computer games became popular here in australia may have been out in japan 10 yrs before that ...just a stab in the dark there..
 
My daughter saw it and told me that they are in bubblegum vending machines.
