i wonder how long, in and out of the woods for someone that hunts land an water hunts, would it be before stickers, from briar pacthes would take its tole on the cable an start leaking ? just a thought.

Do not think it will be a problem that thing is stiff and looks like the coating is thick almost bullet. Thicker coating and stiffer than any cable I have seen on a detector.

If that's a concern for you simply buy some "split wire loom" at your local auto parts store.

Built Garrett Tough like all their machines. Take care of it of course.

I wonder what other negitive stuff we can come up with?

The pressure at 10 feet deep isn't strong enough to force water thru the cable into the machine, plus both the headphone and cable connectors are waterproof so even if some water got into the wires it still wouldn't be able to get into the machine. Even then my understanding is that the electronics are in a separate compartment protected from the other 2 compartments in it.

yes i guess your right, im waiting until they have been out a while before i get one. 80 percent of my hunting with it will be fresh water hunting anyway,
