I found this on the Michigan DNR website:A list of all Michigan State Parks that allow metal detecting,;and DO NOT allow metal detecting.....Every state park is on this list:first,a list of which parks are entirely open to detecting; @nd,parks open to partial detecting(they also have maps that show where to detect)and,3rd;those not open to detecting at all.(I realized that I have been detecting some of the parks on the 3rd list, after I printed it off...unknowingly...)I wonder if all the rest of the states have these? They say on the MDNR website metal detecting is recognized as a "legitimate hobby"....Get a list printed, check it out, and"go for the gold".......P.S,it also states "anything of value or interest will be turned over to the park rangers for identification and investigation"...........OK THEN....I will be sure to turn over all the bottle caps and pulltabs I find in the future..they are worth SOMETHING,right???THEn,they will say"forget it-just throw it away"!!!!If I find a ring, who does the "identification and investigation",anyway???
