Something about this horse caught my eye............

Kelley (Texas)

This past weekend a friend of mine asked me if I would meet him at a private horse stable to check out a horse that they had bought for their daughter. While at the horse stable, I spotted this horse, just something about it caught my eye, so I took a picture of it. Kelley (Texas) :)

Picture taken with a Sony A300 DSLR camera with a Minolta 28-85mm lens, F7.1, 1/640, ISO 100, Manual Mode, harsh lighting conditions.

Really nice looking horse . I had a friend once had a white horse and she had trouble keeping it from sun burning around the eyes and rear end .
Now she was leaving hers out in a pasture in the country not in a stable where it could be taken in most of the time .

Very nice looking horse Kelley. We had a donkey for about a year, but sold it a few months back. Never owned a horse though.

especially sensitive to sunlight and will easily sunburn if left out in the sun too long. If sunburned badly enough, infections can result and you will have a sick horse on your hands. Darker colored horses with white markings are also at risk if the white color is around the eyes, nose or ears. I had a white faced horse at one time that would get a sunburned nose if I was not careful. Kelley (Texas) :)

They have a natural dislike of coyotes, and even dogs for that matter. They can be mean and coyotes will often avoid a cow herd that has a few guard donkeys. Kelley (Texas) :)

I lot of the farmers around here are using Lamas now to guard there cows and sheep They seem to be very aggresive any animals that come in a field that doesn't belong there . They also use a big white breed of dogs to protect sheep around here , not sure what the name of that breed dog is tho . I'm in Missouri by the way .
I might add theres a lot of people raising the Lamas here in our state now and they cost big bucks to buy .

That large white dog is likely a Great Pyrenees. It's a breed that originated on the border of France and Spain and is largely used as a guard dog for livestock. When they're in a field of sheep, they are hard to tell from the sheep.
