... is what I am looking for!
Hello everyone!
I am a german detectorist and have been swinging detectors for the last 20 years. I am really into the hobby (land+water detecting, bottle-digging, etc) and I need some help:
As I will be in New York City for the last two weeks in july I was wondering if any of you would be so kind to give me some tips or information about places/museums/shops etc that I should not miss beeing in town. I mean, besides the normal tourist-stuff. Places or events that are somehow connected to our hobby. As I said, I am really into the hobby!
For example, if I got it right, there is one MD-shop in Brooklyn, which I will definitely visit to buy a bundle of books and TH-Magazines (we haven't any good ones in Germany)... Furthermore I will spend time in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the section for costumes (lots of buttons and buckles!!!) and in the section for arms and armour. I think, you get the idea.
So, what else is there in the line of shops, little or big museums, exhibitions, events etc that I must not miss?
I will be located in Jersey City close to Manhattan and I am limited to public transportation.
Your help would really be apreciated and if any of you are planing to come to Berlin, I would be very happy to help you with any information.
Thank you very much and hh!
Chris
