Other day hit a park I haven't been to in 14 months. Picked up $8.90 with 70 coins around the ball fields & bleachers. Went back yesterday same park but hunted the tot lots and nearby areas. Zippo, could'nt break a buck and a half. This last area when left for a yr, is usually good for between 6-10 bucks. Yet is was cleaned out. Did find 3 metal cars. As good as it was hunted, I don't know how they missed them? Not one cent in the bark mulch, and didn't see any holes. Can't figure it?

No, not really, but it has been the same around here, seems a fellow has to hit the chips fast, hard and often what with all the wand swingers popping up. Its a bummer not to be able to let the lot fill up over a year or so and then clean it out, but, times being what they are,...
Anyway, Dancer, it will be snowing here soon, and the chips will be frozen, and nobody will hit it until spring, but at the first glimpse of a thaw, a fellow better be quick with the broom to sweep it all up!

Same has happened here, only I got to meet the Rascal. Just got him a new detector and I helped him to learn to pinpoint with his machine. He had holes in the bark chips about a foot deep. The good news is he was diggin' all the metal id plates outta the tot lot that must've been on on the playground equipment when they built the park and then covered it with bark chips. He had his detector maxed out and all the bad stuff was deep. It's been about 3 months now and I haven't seen any signs of his return. Probably another disappointed searcher who thought he was gonna get rich. Oh, and another example of how depth isn't everything.
