Someone questioned my honesty ...

Fortunately it was not anyone from this website, but I mean really .... if I were devious enough to stage a find, I could surely come up with something better than a canadian dollar coin. They are saying that my coin was too clean, and that canadian coins never look that way out of the ground due to their being less silver than a US coin. Really? Ok ..It's only 10% less .. Anyways, thanks to everyone for enjoying my finds and not asking me how it is possible that I dig all of that. I dug my arse off for every one of 'em ... And I will be posting a picture of all of the junk I have dug this year tomorrow.

Dave --

I'm real sorry to hear that. I certainly wouldn't worry about it, though. I smell some envy/sour grapes, my friend... :) Don't let 'em get you down. Anyone thinking that it's not possible that you "dig all of that" is just jealous, period.

You have done well this year -- VERY well. Hope you get another hunt in before the DEEP freeze! :) If not, I told you I have some spots lined up down here where the weather is better in the winter! :)

You know the truth and you don't have a hidden agenda. I have questioned ONE person on here and I felt he needed to be questioned. He had a hidden agenda. And peronally I think a coin with less silver would stand up better anyway. But it all depends on the soil composition where you found it. Here in Michigan if you find a copper coin in sand it is mostly ok. If you find one in the dirt that always stays wet. you have a piece of corroded metal you might get a date off and you might not.

Anyway, its the people with very few posts and have a general story... I found this last week....... a 1804 silver dollar. LOL an example of course, that I question.

The ring in my avatar? I can tell a story behind it. Congrats on a great find. I have only found one real American dollar and it was underwater. Worn flat almost. I am sure the person that questioned you is jealous he didn't get his coil above it!!

Don't worry about something you can not control. There are a few in anything and everything we do. Obviously they have not dug to much silver or they would know what silver looks like when it has just seen the light of day. Congratulations on all your finds with your no longer new Explorer SE Pro. HH :minelab:

Throw their comment over your shoulder and keep on digging and posting..................Scuba-D is right about the soil having a lot to do with what a coin looks like when you dig it.

Don't worry about someones jealouse rantings.......... We appreciate your posts, your Finds, and I, appreciate the help you have offered me in settings on the SE Pro.

One more thing Sir. We appreciate your integrity too. Looking forward to seeing your next great finds...

Anytime you are dealing with a large group of people, you will encounter a good cross section of the good, bad, ugly. We are fortunate here at Finds to have most of our members fitting in the first mentioned, the others you just ignore. Keep up the great finds Dave.........:clapping: and as long as YOU are having fun, that is all that matters.

Don't worry about the negoids - just keep having fun hunting and posting the finds so the rest of us can enjoy them too!

If you post finds you best expect it.... its just part of it for some reason. We all should know there are just unbelievable finds out there 1 post or a 1000 people want to share their success. Im beginning to learn there is no rules for what can be found, where it can be found, and what it can be found near. Keep digging the good stuff McDave. If everyone stops posting finds what we left with?

Dave....let it go my friend.............let it go.

Don't even waste a second of you're time worrying about it. It is absolutely not worth it.

Keep on diggin'...and keep on postin'

Yeah .... it's all good. Thanks guys ... I guess I find it amusing more than anything. Besides, I'm still in the afterglow from finding that dollar coin :super:

Sorry to hear that.
I had the same problem last year when I found a mint 1855 shield Sovereign down the beach. May I say not off the forum members just the local yokles, as I said to them why would I purchase a coin for about

There will always be doubters. Let 'em doubt and keep doing what you do so well.

[size=large]i know it's a nagging feeling when someone does that. i've followed your post since you got your ml and enjoy them very much. with-out question. very encouraging at times.

The cleanest silver I have ever dug was a canadian dime. I think it was a 1961 or 51. I was showing a friend the new etrac and he wanted me to stop at this little tiny park (grassy area inside an intersection) about 60 feet square. I had told him i dont have stage fright when it comes to detecting and would detect anywhere I could get my coil over. So I stopped and the 3rd or so target was about 6 inches down. and it was shiny and fresh as the day it was minted. He saw me dig it at a spot he picked and he didnt even believe it. Idigid

Don't worry about it. There are whole hordes of couch potatos sitting on their computers that wouldn't know a dirty coin from a clean one. I've noticed, especially on youtube, that it's a hobby for some to be a pest. It's not you.

Hey man like Bryce says ''Let it go--just let it go.'' The person or persons questioning your honesty/find probably hasn't found much so they are a little envious. I have found SEVERAL silver coins that have come out of the ground very clean. You know the truth so let it go. Go find some more stuff and please keep us posted cause it's gonna be a long winter. The more stuff I have to look at and read the better. Keep up the good work.
