Someone give me some info on the CZ3D...

Good machine or no? Too heavy? I have heard good and bad reviews. Good in iron? Good in trash? Good compliment for my other machines? A T2, SovereignGT, and a Tejon?

Or should I get an F-75 or an MXT instead? I have friends who clean up with MXTs... I knew I shouldn't have gone to the Civil War show Saturday... Now I have the fever for a new machine.

The reason I am considering the CZ3D is to hopefully try to find more old coins and possible some gold coins. Is it hot on buttons? On minnies?

Thanks.

Julien

a new machine I would go for the f75. I have always loved my cz's and currently have the cz3d, but since getting my f75 my 3d is pretty much now just collecting dust. Good luck with your decision. HH jim tn

Even though I have a T2? I thought the F-75 was almost the same thing. Have you used a T2?

Thanks,

Julien

I also have a F75 and CZ3D... as good as the 3D is, I still grab the F75 first. In my local soil it has a depth, discrimination, weight, balance, target separation and ID resolution advantage... also, according to NASA Tom, the F75 "4h" audio mode is very similar to the old coins specs built into the 3D.

The main advantage of the 3D over the 75 would be on wet, salty sand due to it being a multi-frequency machine. The F75 was not designed as a beach hunter, but I used it on vacation and it performed better than I expected, but still not the depth in the wet stuff you would get from a multi-frequency machine...

On dry land though... It's F75 all the way for me. I haven't used a T2 so I can't offer any advise as to how it compares to the 75.

Julien, no, I have not used the t2. Maybe Mr. Ladd will jump in, or others that may have both and explain the differences. Like Mark, I have hung onto my 3D for the occasional beach hunting I get to do. But, again, for dirt hunting, the f75 is the one I grab. Again, good luck with your decision. HH jim tn

The F75 will surprise you on how well it works in trash. You can set the F75 up almost like the 3D. The 3D was made for coin hunting in old sites and also hunting new sites, just make sure you use the right setting. I love my 3D and will take it when hunting old sites just because of coil sizes and how well it does on old coins. If the F75 had a smaller coil it would be hard to make up my mind on this. You will dig iron with all units more so with the 3D, this may not be a bad thing though because you don't know until you dig. The T2 and F75 may look the same outside and thats where it stops. When I had the T2 it seems it was more for relic hunting then coin shoot, don't get me wrong it works good on coins too.
There is no detector better then then other its all on the user and how well they know what it will do and know what its telling you.
I have cut down on all detectors to only four, 3D CS F75 and the Ace 250, and one more my very first one I have had for over 30 years.
Mike Scott, Bill Ladd and Mr Bill can give you more detail on the detectors you ask about, they are great people to talk to and give very good info. It will all depends on you and what you will be doing. Just remember its on how well you know the detector.
I travel allot and will take one with me for about three weeks at a time and never fails I wish I had something else, you know I learn more with the detector I have because I have to use it or not hunt, and not hunting when I can will not happen.
Good luck in what you do and have fun out there

My T2 is on the was to El Paso for repair and a general checkup. I think what I will do is goa ahead and buy an F-75, then I can compare them. I am certain that I will prefer the 75, and sell the T2 fresh from a re-furb. Then, down the road if I still want it, i'll try the 3d for a specialty coin shooter, I use the SovGT in the surf if I ever got to the shore...

Thanks,

Julien
