Found in an area that has gave up items old as 1850's. Dotted circle is the size of a dime. Copper. I cant tell what these charaters are doing and it is not in english. Any ideas???

LOL,, No there is only one, front and back. Its not english lauguage, maybe Latin, I really don't have a clue.

What you see as a b is a half of a T or upside down L and the "E"s are a cross between a 3 and a E,, Its hard to explain in words.

I thought it might mean baptize in? latin?. Seems I can make out someone sprinkling water over another. But hard to tell.

I cleaned it up a little and took more pics. You were correct though, does look like what you said a little, I was looking at the other side.

I think you have a religious medallion. In Mark 1:1-11 we hear of how Christ was baptized by St. John the Baptist, not with water, but with the Holy Spirit. The dove is the Christian symbol of the Holy Spirit.

Binky: Can you elaberate on that some? Why would you say that? I think dave nailed it, he's good at this. But I'm not positve.
Its all good,, lol
