Some treasure hunting leads for D'Hanis, Texas...........

Kelley (Texas)

New member
I spent years traveling the back roads of South Texas and saw lots of good places where folks could metal detect. I did not metal detect any of these sites, were more interested in taking pictures to record the history of these small towns. If you folks are interested, I will post some of the pictures with the locations for your use in finding places to possibly metal detect, but you must let me know because I see no sense in posting them if there is no interest. Please let me know. Kelley (Texas) :)

These are pictures of an old school in D'Hanis, Texas, located approximately an hour's drive west of San Antonio, Texas on old Highway 90. I believe the old school is owned by the Catholic Church that is next to it. At the time that I took these pictures, the school was vacant, not in use.

This is a picture of a nice baseball field located across from the Catholic Church.

In my dealings with the catholic churches around here, if you ask, it is always NO! If you hunt anyways it is always jail. If for any strange reason you DO get permission, they follow you around like a hawk and claim everything found as "Church Property" .........nge
