Some things I wish I knew !

This has happened to me more than a couple of times. Hunting Clads.
Decide to hunt a site I've let lie for a year. Look in my log and see on my last visit, found 50+ coins over $5.00 bucks. Get there, find Zippo, I mean can't find 8 coins to save my life. Some of these places, can't even detect much junk (alum) No sign of someone else hunting. Can't figure it, and this is after waiting a yr. to go back.

Another thing, I drive by some soccor fields, jammed with people. Go back there early one morning and zonk, nada!
Than hunt a little patch of grass, [ room size] around a ticket booth, snack stand, and the good times are here again.

You just never know for sure until you hunt it.

I have experienced the same thing. I think it takes a long time to replenish the coins in some areas. Many areas I have found that were coin rich are still very sparse several years after being "hunted out". Some places I have gone back to many times before things really got quiet finds wise and they tend to stay that way. Exceptions to that are carnival rides. There the coins are deposited in a short period of time each time the carnival visits.
By quiet I am talking about finding hundreds of coins on the first hunt to an area, maybe half that the next time and then on down so the finds are few and far between. It is always a lot of fun to find an new un-hunted place.

My experience has shown similar results. It can take 3-5 years to make a site "HOT" again. And sometimes other people hunt the same site too. The best thing to do is keep moving forward, get creative and try new spots. some of those new spots will surprise you.

Good luck:thumbup:

Yeah even the kids ain't loosing much at school. Don't find near the amount of quarters I used to find. And it will get worse.
