been park hunting lately ...finding lots of clad and not much else.... this sterling money clip i found today, read out like a half dollar....the 925 braclet was a basket ball court find from memorial day.....othr than that just clad and trash..... [attachment 269643 2013parksilver.jpg] [attachment 269644 2013parksilver.jpg] i did have one of those -in the park-incidents that others have been writing about lately.... i was hunting this semi trashed out park which borders a jogging path...i hunt here like 2 or 3 times a year with no body even noticing me... today however i was out like 8 am ,there were people on the walking path ,i was the only one in the parking lot...this nice pickup truck pulls in and just sort of stops in the middle of the lot with engine running and music on.... 5 minutes later i notice the local police suv driving down the main rd.. i dress in green or brown clothes when park hunting just to help blend in and be less conspicuous... either way i wasnt sweating it because there are no rules against detecting and as you will notice from the scratches on the bill clip-i dont dig-i do the stab and grab so as not to desturb the roots .... i didnt even think the cop would notice me,but he did....he came flying into the parking lot, stopped, looked at me for a minute or two then left.....l continued doing my thing , 5 minutes later a park employee came to empty trash cans...he didnt say anything either..... 5 minutes later this same cop comes flying into the parking lot again...again he sits and watches me...i go about my business and pay him no never mind... again he leaves without saying a word.... by this time i figured i better not push the issue and decided it was getting too hot anyway... as i was getting back to thr car i noticed the guy in the pick up was much older than previously thought and i thought i heard him talking on a radio ... when i got to the car he left and so did i.... i just dont know what caused this much attention to be payed to me.... i only know of one other guy that does parks in that town and although he digs holes im pretty sure he fills them as ive watched him in action and he seems to be very neat and professional.. so we will see what comes of it if anything...some town to the west of this park have -no metal detecting rules on the books for years..... happy hunting....

Yeah, a fellow has to use that spidey sense now a days and know when to leave. I found 3 spent 9mm casings on the beach in a section I hit everyday, there was also a handful of somebodys hair that had been torn out, one could easily see there had been a fight the night before, fresh sand tells a good story! so I was of course sweeping for some big gold necklace that may have got torn off in the altercation, nope. Those are nice finds! :clapping:

Very nice finds! I love finding the different and unusual. The money clip is custom and the bracelet is very nice. Congrats! :clapping:

Nice finds!

I suppose this would be a stretch: DMK = "Dig More Karate's!"...... Like in Gold! :goodnight:

nice finds, here in AZ there seems to be a city worker camping out at each park for most of the day, which I dont like, but when they come near me I will just pretend to be probing with my propointer until they move on, then dig. If they seem to be hanging out awhile I will discreetly mark the target (piece of trash, twig upright, etc) and return when they leave to dig it. I never have trouble but would rather avoid altercations. Also keeping my trash to show them seems to make them feel like I'm being pro active rather than destructive.

Seems like your situation could possibly just be coincidental with a tiny bit of paranoia, I think we all have a bit of fear of being denied hunting spots these days, so it is justified. :)
