The new CTX 3030 lower travel rod production begins.. Available in January..

Neat Pete.
How many sections is each shaft broken down in to?

One more piece of gear I need! Going to Cabo in Feb and I NEED a travel rod. The factory one is so damned long. I'd be happy to give it a solid week of surf testing!

I will give it nine days straight of testing in England in March.

Where was this last week? LOL I had to buy a bigger checked bag to get that thing on the plane!

Me too. End of last year I bought a piece of luggage specifically so it was long enough to carry the CTX.

Is there a kit where you can buy these parts and convert your existing shaft to this?

Why the O-rings. Wouldn't these parts be glued into the two halves of the shaft?

Thanks!

On my flight back from philly they forgot my checked bag and I had to wait 2 days to get my lower rod. Screw the clothes I was without my ctx since this was In there. Everything else was in my carry on bag. I am glad they forgot it on the way home at least. Would have sucked if it happen on the way to my hunting trip..

Andy will be doing a field test on the travel shaft for the CTX3030 and will be putting it to use on our trip to Las Vegas.

Watch our site for a video on how the travel shaft works out.

Oh yeah, that would be a nightmare. Tropical beach vacation and no detector. That would put me in a really bad mood, at least until I had the proper amount of rum to medicate me. LOL

O rings are there to provide a slight compression fit to help prevent overtightening of the 2 halves. I doubt there is a kit and there would definitely be no warranty if there was a kit

No, the o rings go on the threaded portions to provide a slight compression fit between the halves...

Yes. We are 2 weeks behind due to my rotator cuff surgery. They will definitely be ready for mid Feb at which time pricing will be announced

Well, after using the new Travel Rod for the last few weeks, I can say that Anderson Detector Shafts has another winner on their hands.

The real beauty of the new shaft is being able to pack it in a suitcase . . . something the stock one does not do unless you want to pay for an oversized bag even if you put it on an angle.

We took it to Las Vegas and without it, we would have hoped that pretending it was a walking stick and taking it on the plane would have worked.

The threaded connection is rock solid when you snug the two pieces up and it uses the same cable-hole design that their replacement shaft does which eliminates stress on the cable. The carbon fiber finish is first class and it comes with a cable sheath that provides even more protection to your coil cable.

I sent them a product report which should be available soon but let me say that if you do any traveling by plane, you will need to get one of these shafts unless you want to pay that oversize baggage fee or hope you can carry it on board.
