Some short park hunts....

Sailorman

New member
Was able to put in two short hunts in some modern parks this weekend. Still working on access to some older spots but they are tough around here. This is from 5 1/2 hours total. One park with an AT-Pro and one with an E-trac. Sometimes just knocking out clad is fun! Cell phone picture, sorry for the quality. Sure wish the pennies were fewer and the quarters more but it's all fun.

146 coins
1 very long charm necklace with two charms
1 loose charm
1 set of initial charms
1 action figure
1 plastic crystal

Why own both an E-Trac and an AT Pro? Is it for the waterproof feature?

The AT-Pro is light and fast. I also wade with it in fresh and salt and use it in the rain. I usually keep either the 5x8 or the Super Sniper on it. So it's easy to pick up and run around playground equipment or in brushy/woody areas. I also use it as a loaner.

The E-Trac usually has a Detech Ultimate 13" coil which is great for the open areas, deep hunting, wet and dry beach and the like. I do have an X-5 for trashy old sites. But you do swing low and slow and I use a Swingy Thingy.

I think they compliment each other well.

My main detector is my Minelab Explorer. And I use my AT Pro for waterhunting, or if I have a friend tag along. Or sometimes just for a change of pace from the Minelab. Less bells and whistles, and you can swing much faster compared to the "creep & crawl" method neccessary with the Explorer.

I think you are hot on the trail of some gold,
