Went back to the hillside where I had the nickel grand slam last weekend with a smaller coil. The coins I found there previously were very shallow so I thought some better target separation might get me a few more keepers. That seemed to do the trick as the first coin I dug there was the 1941-D Washington quarter. Followed that up with a 1929 mercury dime, then a couple wheaties before finishing with a nice 1905 indian head cent. Along the way I hit a spill of thirty unfired .22 long shells. Looks like they were in the ground a long time judging by the oxidation on the lead. Two other hunts during the week resulted in 3 more V nickels (1883 w/cents,1895,1898 & 1900) and a 1901 indian head cent. V nickels seem to be the coin of choice lately. I dug at least 8 over the last 2 weeks.
