Some Recent Finds But Not With A Metal Detector

Star and I recently took a day trip to Western Illinois to dig for geodes. It was hot, hot, hot, digging in the pit but we came home with a good selection of geodes. Yesterday we cracked a few of them. Some of the crystals we found inside include quartz, calcite, farro dolomite, blue barite, and pyrite hairs. Not the best pictures but here are a few of what we cracked.

I am so jealous. I love geode and rock hunting. Those are very pretty and I'm sure it takes a lot of time and patience to crack them. Thanks for sharing them with us. BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Those just too cool...... great finds guys.
