Thanks buddy. That thing traveled a long way from where it was minted at to where I found it at. Just shows the early monetary system in the early states was based on hard currency from other countries.
 
Thus the term "bits".
 
Two bit four bit eight bits a dollar.
 
Its a shot bullet that the soldier made into a fishing sinker. Pretty cool huh?. I've found some in my reb camp where I live. They carved Gardner's into them. Thanks for looking & HH. TIM
