Some questions about Golden Sabre uMax

I just have a few questions about this machine. How do the depth and discrimination quality of this one compare to the older golden sabre units? Also, does this unit maintain the 4-tone target id even if the notch switch is turned to the off position, or does the machine go to a single tone when you do that? Is the audio nice and loud on this one, or is the sound too weak?
I am deciding whether or not to buy one. Any input from users of this machine would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

My dream machine is a Goldon Tejon... Wouldn't that be AWESOME?
Just a little dreaming.

Of all the Tesoros I've used the Golden is the one I like best. I didn't like the "oor" standard oval coil and put a Super 7 ShadowX2 coil on mine. It matched the depth of the 8X9 coil and had no problem hitting dimes at 6 inches. I never tried the early Golden Sabre's but did have two Golden Sabre II's, neither had good depth. The Golden µMax was two inches deeper that the II's in airtests and a little more than that on inground coins. The tones are great, but be forewarned as there are more than four tones counting the mixed tones. Targets right at the break point between two tones will give a mix of those two tones and sometimes a low iron tone will be mixed with a high coin tone. Takes some getting used to but once learned they provide a lot of target info.

Hi bud,I have the Golden Sabre Plus and also the Bandito 2,not the umax, and I find the Sabre not quite as deep as the Bandit, although close on gold. The Sabre has the best audio of the two I think, and both are a pleasure to use,but dont expect to dig coins armpit deep <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D">,HH,Cal
