Went back to my newest spot that's been producing colonial era coins,buckles,etc.. more flat buttons,but what I thought was cool is one of the flat buttons still has a lot of the cloth stuck in the shank, never found one with any material intact.. thanks for looking

Must bd interesting at times not knowing if at first sight if button or a coin.. oldest button Ive found so far was a Army Great Seal button from the early 1900s.

Exactly. When I dig those bigger buttons i have no idea when I find them in the hole if it's a copper coin or a button.. Today I did find a old large cent,and some more buttons. I have all my large cents in the tumbler trying to get them to look better. I'll find out later if it worked
